alejandro's global context:
Across the globe body image is viewed as something everyone talks about whether its positive or negative. It doesn't matter where you are on the planet the idea of body image has spread so widely that everyone has the idea in the back of their heads of what the media has said what the perfect image for men and women looks like. Surprisingly when people who are from America are asked about their body image and how confident they feel they score lower than someone who is not from America whether it be a male or female. In a result from a survey conducted by PsychGuides.com results showed that both women and men from America have a lower percentage of having confidence when asked about their physical appearance than men and women that are not from America. At the global rate we can solve the issue of body image by changing the way we portray a "perfect" human image whether it be a man or woman. Some say we can solve this problem by teaching boys and girls at a young age to have very high confidence. The reason why body image is such a hard issue to solve is because people started seeing an hourglass figure and steroid muscles as a symbol that marks you are close to perfect, stated by the authors of The Adonis Complex.
