The issue of body image can be applied to theory of Marxist criticism. Since the definition of Marxist criticism is a type of criticism in which literary works are viewed as the product of work and whose practitioners emphasize the role of class and ideology as they reflect,propagate, and even challenge the prevailing social order.1 This means, if you are wealthier than other people, the better you will be in life. While conducting my research I have found in certain areas of the world, if you are heavier than most people are, you are considered wealthier than others are.i For example, the article “Ideal” Body Image Varies Across Cultures” states “In rural Rwanda if you are fat it’s a sign of wealth, health, and being physically strong…”2
